I subsequently changed the code behind to explicitly bind to the product table during Row Cancel and Row Edit events. So, the Row Update event didn't fire because there was no indication of a Row Update existing.I have a break on the Sub statement for the Row Updating handler ... The Edit and Cancel buttons fire the Row Command event, however, the Update button does not. No breakpoint was triggered when I hit the Update button. I truly appreciate all the suggestions you've given. This is becoming so frustrating it's getting almost comical. Breakpoints were triggered for the Row Editing and Row Command. You have to make sure that you aren't setting your Grid View's data when it is not postback. If you do this, your Grid View's source will be refreshed before you're able to grab the new values out of it.Hi, I have been working with the Data Grids and recently have been trying to implement the . If it was a Data Grid, I would have used the code below and made the updating of the Data Grid work. Cells when using I would first suggest that you use the Template Columns instead of the Bound Columns this way you are not dependent on the index/position of the column in the Grid View. I do not know how to implement the Row Updating event in the Grid View.
Yes, I did put the breakpoint at the Row Updating line (and not in the function).
It seems like the Java Script can get mangled otherwise.
If you are using command buttons, then do not use Auto Generate Edit Button.
I'm having a very hard time understand what would prevent your event from being fired.
Do you have some sort of Java Script functionality that may be stopping it? A common problem people have with Grid Views is understanding when to data bind the data source to the Grid View.
